Hi, I'm Marc Hallam and welcome to my fishing website.
This is the
body of water I fish, the Ottawa River, from Britannia Bay in
the city of Ottawa, Ontario reaching northwest, upstream to the
Chats Falls dam at Fitzroy Harbour. I've been fishing this area
for over thirty years now and still haven't got bored with it.
Props can get expensive though as it can be a challenging stretch
of river with varying water levels and dangerous shoals. Huge
waves in a northwest wind.
Worth it though.
There's a variety
of quality size sportfish. Potential record breakers.
The water is
usually very clear in spring then turns tea colour in summer and
back to clear again in the cooling waters of the fall. All different
types of vegetation, sand and rock.
There's at
least a half dozen boat launches on the Ontario side of the river,
several of them public.
